Hawaii Five-O

Now that summer is upon us and all our shows are wrapping up for the season (if they haven’t already) it is time for us to take a look at some new potentials for the fall season. Hawaii Five-O wasn’t on my to-do list until I watched the trailer.

It looks entertaining enough (for what it is) and seems to have a good cast. I loved Alex O’Loughlin in “Moonlight” and Daniel Dae Kim is fresh from a great stint on “Lost”. I’ll probably watch the first episode because I like the cast and see if it tickles my fancy any.

Saturn Shines on Moonlight

The Academy of Science Fiction and Horror Films’ 35th Annual Saturn Awards have shined some light on a few of my favorites in the genre. The happiest little surprise for me was giving “Moonlight” Best Series on DVD. This show only lasted a year, but what we got of it was pretty darn good, if you ask me. I own the DVD set in question and can agree with the award choice. It is a great collection to spend a weekend with. Congrats to Moonlight on this win.

Moonlighting with Alex

Moonlight passed over television viewers for only a brief moment, but those who watched the show fell in love with it immediately. The question I have for everyone is this — Did viewers fall in love with the show and its intriguing characters or were they just following one shining star: Alex O’loughlin? The show only lasted one season, but there was a small uproar over its cancellation which indicates that at least some really did love the show for what it was and not simply for who was in it. CBS seems to have other thoughts, however, as it has cast Alex in a new show called “Three Rivers“. Many people claimed they would boycott CBS after the cancellation of their beloved show. It will be interesting to see how many people follow up on this and how many just want to see the actors perform in some capacity.
