Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer

Mugglenet uploaded the official trailer for HP & the Deathly Hallows earlier tonight, and boy does it look good. I have been looking forward to this installment since the book first came out a few years ago. Now that it is here, it’s hard to believe though. I’m having trouble wrapping my brain around the fact that this time next year we will be closing the final chapter of the Harry Potter saga. When the last book was released, we still had the movies to look forward to. Now that the last movies are being released, what do we have left? I suppose we can always go visit Hogwarts through a nice Florida vacation, but it won’t be the same kind of anticipation that we had with the books and movies. Thinking about it is rather depressing though, and I would rather just be excited about this trailer, if you don’t mind. Said trailer can be found below, for your viewing pleasure. Or if you like, you can go to the website it was originally posted on. Enjoy : )

Happy Birthday + News Roundup

Lots of music and television news to share today. But first…

A happy birthday shout-out to Robbie Coltrane. Coltrane is best known for his portrayal of Hagrid in theHarry Potter series, although he is in a number of other films as well. He turns 60 today.

Moving from movies to television, it has already spread pretty quickly that this is officially the last season of 24. There was talk about it moving to NBC, but that is definitely not happening. The movie is in the works though, and will likely follow chronologically the events of the current season.

And in music, RXP’s Experience Next presents: One Eskimo. This show is free to all and will be at Brooklyn Bowl on March 31.
Last, but certainly not least, MGMT‘s video for Flash Delirium is online for your viewing pleasure.

Bonus round:
For Doctor Who fans, here is an interview with Stephen Moffat.

The new season of Doctor Who premieres this weekend in the UK and April 17th in the US.

Happy Birthday, Gary Oldman

A big happy birthday shout-out goes out to Gary Oldman, who turns 52 today. Oldman is known for being in a number of films, including Batman Begins/The Dark Knight, The Fifth Element, and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead, as well as his portrayal of Sirius Black in the Harry Potter series. Sirius returns to the wizarding world in the final chapter, Deathly Hallows. Oldman is also listed as reprising his role as Commissioner Gordon in a future Batman film.

As a postscript I would also like to wish a happy belated to Oldman’s fellow marauder in the Harry Potter films, David Thewlis. Thewlis plays Remus Lupin in the series. He will also be making an appearance in Deathly Hallows. He turned 47 yesterday.
Happy Birthday to you both.
